Program Objectives

Department of Finance, one of the leading Departments in the University of Dhaka, has launched Master of Professional Finance (MPF) as a direct response to the escalating demand of dedicated professionals in Finance, Investment and Accountancy Profession. This rigorous Two-year program combines in-depth study of Finance and hands-on business problem solving. The program offers a high level of flexibility and a wide range of elective courses that allow students to tailor their MPF program to their specific career goals. Immersed in the theoretical world of financial analysis and hands-on interaction with the real business world, MPF graduates will be sought out for their value in the market and enjoy a wide range of career options— from capital market expert, investment analyst to professional accountant etc.

Admission

Perspective students must have bachelor degree with work experience of minimum one year preferably in accounting, investment, auditing and finance. However, work experience is exempted for students of professional Finance/ Accounting bodies including CFA, ACCA, CA, and ICMAB. Members of CFA, ACCA, CA, ICMA and similar bodies are exempted from the written test. Application for admission should be made through online web portal at mpf.financedu.ac.bd/admission. Candidates have to appear in the written test and a viva voce examination. A combined score will be developed based on marks obtained in the written test, viva voce examination, previous academic results and experience. Final selections for admission will be made based on the combined score.

Partnership with Professional Bodies:

The MPF program has numerous partnerships with acclaimed professional bodies. a) MPF is a CFA affiliated program. MPF graduates may get scholarships and tutoring facilities in CFA. b) MPF has an Accelerate Agreement with ACCA. MPF graduates may get an exemption of 9 courses in ACCA. Similarly, ACCA degree holders will get exemption of 7 courses in the MPF Program. In addition, Several MoU’s are in the process of being finalized with other professional bodies that will result in immense benefits for the MPF graduates.
